ABOUT

LAUDER ACCOMMODATION

Lauderburn House was built in the mid-1920s as a doctor’s house and infirmary. The house was later transformed into a bed and breakfast for guests. Stay for a unique rural setting on the Otago Central Rail Trail.

The house is set on six acres, close to the spectacular Poolburn Gorge viaducts and tunnels. The two indoor guest rooms are the Kārearea and the Kāhu rooms. We also have a small cottage sleep-out, Matuku Moana, a lovely self-contained room. The sleepout has the use of our stunning outdoor bathroom area with a hot shower and compost toilet.

With our market garden producing abundantly and our 30 beehives keeping us in good stock of delicious Central Otago honey, our breakfasts are a simple but stocked with our own local produce. All you need to get you going on the Rail Trail in the morning.

GUEST REVIEW

The accomodation was beautiful and just of the trail! The hosts (Gillian and Hamish) were both lovely. Would highly recommend if you are wanting somewhere to stay that feels like home. - Nina
